Milwaukee Repertory Theater will honor 12 Milwaukee SHEroes during the run of Eclipsed, March 3 -29, 2020. A Milwaukee SHEro is a woman* of color who exemplifies the values of dedication to one's community, collaboration and sisterhood. Milwaukee Rep received over 100 nominations, which an outside selection committee including Milwaukee Rep employees and community members, picked the following 12 candidates honored as Milwaukee SHEroes. All 12 women are doing their part to better the Milwaukee community.

Featuring a cast of five extraordinary women including Ashleigh Awusie (Kasimir & Karoline, The Gate Theatre in London) as Wife #2, Nancy Moricette (The Convert, The Public Theater) as Rita, Jacqueline Nwabueze (Measure for Measure, Public Theater Mobile Unit) as Wife #1, Matty Sangare (Brooklyn College )as Wife #4, and Nigerian-born, Milwaukee-raised actress Sola Thompson (La La La Strada, Proboscis Theatre) as Wife #3.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater to highlight the Milwaukee SHEroes during the run of Eclipsed, March 3 -29, 2020. Written by Black Panther star Danai Gurira, Eclipsed is a play about five women and their tale of hope and resilience set in the midst of the Liberian Civil War. Every week of the run in March, Milwaukee Rep will highlight the work of three individual women* of color who are fighting for the betterment of the community as a Milwaukee SHEro.

After each of the 48 performances of Until The Flood a guest responder, representing a broad range of community leaders, will give a five minute response to the show, followed by small group facilitated discussions led by trained members of the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion.

Toronto's best holiday family show is actually in Hamilton at Theatre Aquarius. It's Disney/Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins," featuring a stellar cast of Shaw, Stratford and Charlottetown Festival vets. This will be the fifth musical that Clements has directed at The Rep.

FESTIVAL PLAYERS OF PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY will kick off their eighth season of professional live theatre with the new Sunday Series @ Huff Estates featuring Weaksauce by Sam Mullins on Sunday, July 13, and a fully improvised play by Naomi Sniekus and Matt Baram of The National Theatre of the World with legendary improviser Colin Mochrie on Sunday, July 20.
