Artistic Director, Dennis Garnhum and Executive Director, Evan Klassen have announced the Grand Theatre’s 2023/24 playbill - a “Season of Pure Imagination,” on stage from September 2023 through May 2024.

From October 18th through November 5th, London's Grand Theatre takes a step back in time to uncover a century-old mystery in the world premiere of Grand Ghosts. 

Is the grass always greener on the other side? From April 19 to 30, this age-old question will be theatrically explored as London’s Grand Theatre presents the World Premiere of the Canadian musical comedy GROW. 

The holiday season is a time for magic and imagination-to see the world with childlike wonder. And what better way to ring in the holiday season than to take in the Grand Theatre's production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, which flies onto the Spriet Stage, November 26th-December 29th. Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum has announced principal casting for the 2019/20 season including Deborah Hay and Mark Uhre in Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS, Gavin Crawford, who takes on all 40 roles in the hilarious FULLY COMMITTED, Rebecca Northan in EVERY BRILLIANT THING and THIS LONDON LIFE, and Alexis Gordon starring as Ma in the North American premiere in ROOM, based on the award-winning novel by Emma Donoghue.

Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL returns to the Spriet Stage this season starring Jan Alexandra Smith as SCROOGE, in a gender-flipping twist on the holiday classic. Audiences will be immersed in the spectacle of Ebenezer Scrooge and her transformation at the hands of ghostly spirits from Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Adapted by Grand Theatre Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum, A CHRISTMAS CAROL debuted last season to sold-out houses. It returns this holiday season directed by Artistic Associate, Megan Watson. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the Grand Theatre will honour the sacrifices of our soldiers past and present with the Governor General Award-winning story, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS  based on the book of the same name by one of Canada's most distinguished authors. Adapted and directed by Grand Theatre Artistic Director, Dennis Garnhum, TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS launches the 18/19 season on the Spriet Stage, running from October 23 to November 11, Remembrance Day.  The Title Sponsor for TIMOTHY FINDLEY'S THE WARS is BlueStone Properties.

The Grand Theatre is pleased to announce that 2018/19 single tickets go on sale to the general public on July 3. Since subscriptions went on sale earlier this spring, the UK hit BARBER SHOP CHRONICLES is already 50% sold to subscribers who have scooped up seats for this production's only Canadian engagement. Other productions selling quickly include AN UNDISCOVERED SHAKESPEARE, which is completely sold out, and MAGGIE & PIERRE, which has been extended due to high demand.

The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce its 2018/19 Season. It is a season that brings the internationally acclaimed National Theatre from London, England to London, Ontario, and introduces collaborations with Canada's leading theatrical companies including Stratford Festival, National Arts Centre, Catalyst Theatre, Charlottetown Festival, and Crow's Theatre, among others. And, finally, works of Margaret Atwood and Timothy Findley, which have been adapted for the stage, come to the theatre.

The Grand High School Project, the only program of its kind in North America, returns with the blockbuster musical, EVITA.  This limited two-week engagement begins in previews on September 19, opens September 22, and runs thru September 30 on the Spriet Stage.

Canadian Stage's Shakespeare in High Park returns this summer with a Shakespearean double bill at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.), pairing the pastoral comedy, As You Like It, with the bard's first tragedy, Titus Andronicus. Outdoors and under the stars, the plays run on alternate nights from June 26 to Aug. 31, Tuesday to Sunday at 8 p.m. Each performance is pay-what-you can, with a suggested contribution of $20. The productions are presented by Canadian Stage in collaboration with the Department of Theatre, York University.

Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare is the first offering from Theatre 20, a brand new Canadian theatre company with a goal to foster the development of new Canadian musicals. Written by Winnipeg playwright Joseph Aragon, the show tells the true story of the West Port murders in Edinburgh in 1829. With a solid cast and some great original music, the show is a brave first choice for Theatre 20.

Theatre 20's much anticipated first production opened last night at The Panasonic Theatre in Toronto. Bloodless: The Trial of Burke and Hare, is something unique and rare: a new Canadian musical. Written by Joseph Aragon, the show was a hit at The Winnipeg Fringe where Theatre 20 Artistic Director Adam Brazier picked it up and decided to use it for Theatre 20's inaugural show.
