Skating Polly is thrilled to hit the road for a headline tour in support of their double album Chaos County Line. Produced by longtime collaborator Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Jesus Lizard, Veruca Salt), the LP followed 2018’s critically acclaimed The Make It All Show, features a guest appearance by David Yow (Jesus Lizard, Flipper), and was Skating Polly’s first album in five years. Transcendence Theatre Company has announced the creative teams for its 2024 summer season, Broadway in Sonoma. California Wine Country's award-winning premiere entertainment experience will bring incredible, award-winning talent to Sonoma for a summer of outstanding outdoor performances just steps from historic downtown Sonoma. Each production is developed by an experienced artistic team that includes newer artists who have joined Transcendence in recent years and long-standing members who have returned to Sonoma for over a decade. 

BroadwayWorld spoke with Broadway alumn Megan McGinnis about coming back to SoCal, doing an exorcism in front of her 7-year-old son, and keeping a straight face while acting alongside Justin Collette’s Beetlejuice.  

A long-awaited remastered reissue of These Immortal Souls' two studio albums, Get Lost (Don't Lie!) (1987) and I'm Never Gonna Die Again (1992) have been announced. These two post-punk gems, remastered from the original tapes at Birdland Studio by Lindsay Gravina, with Harry Howard and Genevieve McGuckin.

The Centenary Stage Company Young Performers Workshop is now accepting applicants for its Spring 2024 session. Theatre Resources Unlimited (TRU) has announced the star-studded cast of  TRUSPEAK… HEAR OUR VOICES!, an evening to raise awareness of current social issues, as well as awareness of the work TRU has been doing for the theater community for over 30 years.

Their second album with Get Better Records, Sentimental Scum is, as bassist/singer Lexi McCoy describes, “kinda all over the place, inspired by artists like Babes In Toyland, The Muffs, Jeff Rosenstock, Josie & The Pussycats, and anime theme music” with lyrical content on “sobriety, addiction, mental health, exploring queer identity, and more.

The hit show, Gunfight at the Not-So-OK Saloon, is returning to the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Gunfight at the Not-So-OK Saloon is a Gilbert and Sullivan-styled musical comedy set in the Old Wild West with a modern spin.

MasterVoices has announced details of the celebrated chorus’ 82nd season, celebrating the power of the human voice to unite, inspire and connect since 1941.

The June and July trek include stops at St. Vitus in Brooklyn, NY, The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA, the Middle East in Boston, Beat Kitchen in Chicago and Bovine Sex Club in Toronto. In addition, the first show of this second leg comes a day before the band's new double album Chaos County Line is set to be released via El Camino Media.

Actors Theatre of Indiana presents the World Premiere musical Mr. Confidential, premiering at The Studio Theatre at The Center for the Performing Arts beginning April 28, 2023 and running through May 14.

MasterVoices will conclude its 2022-23 season on May 3 at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium with a concert staging of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera Iolanthe, directed and conducted by Ted Sperling.

MasterVoices continues its eclectic 2022-23 season on March 23 at Central Synagogue with Ted Sperling leading O How Good, a performance of Jewish sacred music. The program includes two beloved works of traditional Jewish liturgy set by master composers – Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service and Kurt Weill's Kiddush – as well as the world premiere of And the Sun Goes Up, a new work by Israeli-American composer Daniel Rein, commissioned by MasterVoices.  

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage continues their 36th MainStage Season with the hilarious I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick. The play will introduce audiences to Andrew, a young and successful television star who relocates to New York where he rents a marvelous, gothic apartment.
