Photo Flash: Jetset Getset and More at 2013 Young Artist Awards

Stars turned out on Sunday, May 5 in Hollywood, California, for the 34th Young Artist Awards honoring child and teen actors in movies and television. The event, sponsored by the Young Artist Foundation, raises money each year to help struggling young actors and musicians pursue their dreams. This year's award winners included Kathryn Newton ('Paranormal Activity 4'), Quvenzhané Wallis ('Beasts of the Southern Wild'), Isabella Palmieri ('Falling Skies'), Tyree Brown ('Parenthood'), Isabella Allen ('Les Miserables'), Sebastian Banes ('In the Family') and many more. BWW Review: UMass' CASANOVA - 'Nothing is Real Here; Everything is Appearance'

There are a few things I have learned about the UMass theatre department this semester. One, they love using the aisles of the theatre to make entrances and exits, two they are extremely fond of nudity (no matter the show), and finally they love modernizing stories. These things are what make me love all of the shows I have seen this semester, and Casanova by Constance Congdon was no exception. (more...)

Merrill, and directed by Tom Wojtunik. BLOOD BROTHERS will play a limited engagement at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (30-44 Crescent St, Astoria, NY 11102. Entrance on 30th Road.) BWW Blog: Kelly McCormick of PTC's LES MISERABLES

Hey BroadwayWorld.com! Hello from Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, where we're deep in rehearsals for Les Miserables. This ever-popular musical is making a comeback - literally - and, no, I don't mean an uptick in ticket sales since the movie was released last December. PTC was the first regional theatre to produce Les Mis, in 2007, where it played for 10 sold-out weeks. So it's no surprise that we're here again, just six years later, bringing this amazing story to life. (more...)
