Meistersinger Caranza and Soprano Emily Stokes Headline Enrico Caruso Room, 6/12

Internationally renowned Meistersinger Caranza and soprano Emily Stokes will be the headliners this coming Tuesday, June 12, at 8 PM in the Enrico Caruso Room at Little Italy's legendary Grotta Azzurra Ristorante, located at 177 Mulberry Street on the corner of Broome Street. Ms. Stokes, who is the winner of the Teaneck Cabaret Competition this past Memorial Day, is replacing the previously scheduled soprano Michelle Trovato, who had to drop out because of illness.

Chita Rivera, Tony Danza, Susan Stroman, Albert Maysles, John Turturro, Tamara Tunie, Karen Ziemba, Melissa Errico, and more were among the star presenters at last night's 30th Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. The Astaire Awards are the only awards show to honor excellence in dance and choreography on Broadway and in film and were first started in 1982 by the late Fred Astaire and the late Douglas Watt (a critic and writer for the NY Daily News and The New Yorker). Choreographer Josh Bergasse is choreographing the new Steven Spielberg produced drama series 'Smash' on NBC, scheduled to debut in February of 2012. Starring, Will and Grace alumnus Debra Messing, Shakespearean actress Anjelica Huston, singer/actress Katharine McPhee and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy star Jack Davenport, 'Smash' follows the story of the making of a fictional stage show, 'Marilyn: The Musical,' about the life of Marilyn Monroe. 'Smash' will air on Mondays at 10 pm.
