The George London Foundation for Singers, the organization devoted to the support of young opera singers named for the renowned Canadian-American bass-baritone, has a new name: the George and Nora London Foundation for Singers.

Raehann Bryce-Davis, the young mezzo-soprano whose star has been rising since her 2018 George London Award win, performs the first recital of the George London Foundation for Singers 2022-23 season on Sunday, October 2, at 4 pm at The Morgan Library & Museum.

LA Opera will open its 2022/23 season with a new production of Lucia di Lammermoor, Gaetano Donizetti's spellbinding tale of marriage, madness and murder. Lina González-Granados leads the proceedings in her debut outing as the company's new Resident Conductor.

You’d have thought that the Met Orchestra would have had enough by the end of the season in the opera house, but, no. Their New York season really ended at Carnegie Hall this week with a pair of concerts combining some opera excerpts with orchestral pieces by composers also known for their opera work.

The George London Foundation for Singers presents three events at The Morgan Library & Museum in the 2022-23 season: the 51st annual George London Foundation Competition for American and Canadian opera singers, one of the opera world's most prestigious competitions, and two recitals showcasing recent winners: rising stars mezzo-soprano Raehann Bryce-Davis and baritone Benjamin Taylor, who both won their George London Awards in 2018.

Peter Sellars will direct the Los Angeles Philharmonic performances of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, Music and Artistic Director of the LA Phil. The performances will include Bill Viola’s video.

The MET Orchestra returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for the first time since June 2019, performing two concerts under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, both showcasing internationally acclaimed vocalists who have been featured on The Metropolitan Opera stage.
