Theatre production company Parity Productions, a producer of new work that ensures they fill at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) on their productions with cis women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TCNG) artists, is hosting their second Annual Parity Productions Gala on Wednesday, September 26 from 7pm-9pm at Gotham Comedy Club, honoring and announcing the winners of The Second Annual Parity Commission for Women and Transgender Playwrights.

Continuing STAGES St. Louis' commitment to making theatre accessible for all, STAGES held a Sensory-Friendly performance of its Theatre for Young Audiences production, Seussical, on Tuesday, June 27th at the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights. This special performance provided students on the autism spectrum or with other sensory conditions an opportunity to experience live musical theatre while taking a magical journey through the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss.

Time Lapse Dance presents Book of Clouds, a collaborative performance-installation contemplating the sublime sky, June 7 - 10, 2017 at Baryshnikov Arts Center, John Cage and Merce Cunningham Studio, 450 W. 37th Street (near Tenth Avenue), NYC. Performances: Wed-Fri at 7:30pm, with a free family workshop on Sat at 2pm and a performance-installation from 3-9pm. Yale Repertory Theatre concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, now through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Friday, May 5. The cast of Mary Jane includes Kathleen Chalfant, Emily Donahoe, Vella Lovell, Miriam Silverman, and Shona Tucker. Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Friday, May 5.

The Royal Players and Middlebrooks Electric are excited to announce the upcoming production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer the Broadway Musical, based on the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer written by Mark Twain. The Royal Players will present this classic story on April 20th-23rd and April 27th-30th at The Royal Theatre at 111 S. Market St. in Benton.

The show opens Today, Nov 19, 2016, at 3pm (also press opening). Featuring Redtwist Company Member Michael Sherwin, with guest artists Drew Johnson, Carolyn Kruse, and Emily Tate. A sea turtle waddles into Molly's seemingly happy life and opens Molly's eyes to the pain around her.

Following the enormous success of STAGES' inaugural Sensory-Friendly performance of its Theatre for Young Audiences production in 2015, this year STAGES held two Sensory-Friendly performances of Disney's Alice in Wonderland on Tuesday, July 28th at 10:00AM and 1:30PM at The Playhouse at Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights.

Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING closes today, Sunday, January 24 after 129 performances. The production will have life after Broadway, however, with a national tour scheduled to launch in 2017.

BroadwayWorld has learned that due to prior commitments, Marlee Matlin and Camryn Manheim will play their final performances in Deaf West Theatre's Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING on January 10, 2016. Their roles will be filled by Alexandria Wailes and Elizabeth Greene, respectively, and the show will close on January 24 as scheduled.
