Seeking
East West Players, the longest running theater of color in the US is seeking performers to play Multi-Racial, Asian, Pacific Islander, and South Asians for ANIMALS OUT OF PAPER, by Rajiv Joseph.

Preparation
Please prepare 1 contemporary monologue, dramatic with comedic elements.

Other Dates
Rehearsals begin August 5, 2014. Previews beginSeptember 4, opening Wednesday September 10 for a four week run (5 performances a week) throughOctober 5, 2014.

Breakdown

When a world-renowned origami artist opens her studio to a teenage prodigy and his school teacher, she discovers that life and love can't be arranged neatly in this drama about finding the perfect fold.

Ilana - female-forty to fifty, Multi-Racial, Asian, Pacific Islander or South Asian.

Andy - male-thirty-five to forty-five, Multi-Racial, Asian, Pacific Islander or South Asian.

Suresh - 18-25 to play an 18 year old Indian boy, raised in the US (should be able to rap or perform spoken word poetry).
