Keith Gray

Keith lives in Milwaukee and is a pop culture fanatic. When not working (as a software trainer/technical support team leader for company specializing in social services software), Keith loves watching television, movies, concerts, and most importantly, live theater. On his first trip to NYC in 1991, Keith was floored after seeing his first Broadway play, "Les Miserables" while on a trip with his high school drama club. Since then, Keith has attended every play that he has been able to afford tickets to. Keith also likes to travel (and does quite a bit for work), read, write and just relax with friends and family. If Keith's not doing any of those things, he is spending time with friends and family (especially his two nieces and nephew), who are more important to him than anything.

BWW Reviews: SISTER ACT A 'Fabulous' Fun TimeBWW Reviews: SISTER ACT A 'Fabulous' Fun Time
February 21, 2013

Disco music in a church? A convent? Nuns hiding murder witness? These do not sound like plot points of a Broadway musical. SISTER ACT, though, tied all of these together with witty banter, great characters, and hummable 'fabulous' songs when it opened at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday night.

Pain. Grief. Fear. Joy. Love. Hope. These are all feelings that were evoked when I was lucky enough to attend the opening night performance of MEMPHIS (2010 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical) at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday night.

Santa Claus will definitely put the cast and crew of Waukesha Civic Theatre's new holiday production CANDY CANE TALES AND HOLIDAY CAROLS on the "Nice" list this year. From the moment the fun filled evening begins, you can't help but be overtaken by the holiday spirit. The production follows the story line of a young girl and her parents as they prepare for the holiday season. As the story moves forward, the inquisitive young girls asks questions about many of the holiday traditions, where they came from, and why we celebrate them. Her parents, aided by the rest of the company, help explain and further illustrate the answers through story, song, and dance.

The Marcus Center for Performing Arts was rocking Tuesday night for the opening of the Broadway Across America touring company of "Rock of Ages". The atmosphere at the theater was more like a rock concert, than a Broadway musical. And, for this particular brand of show, it worked spectacularly.

Carmen De La Paz, a Waukesha, Wisconsin native and international celebrity, will be donating her time and concert to perform a benefit concert on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Waukesha Civic Theatre. "My Life Through Music" is the premiere of a one-woman that she hopes to take to the international stage. This exciting night of music is a telling of her life story through song and anecdote, following her from Waukesha to New York and finally Los Angeles. Songs will include Broadway hits, Disco favorites, Spanish Language Pop Music as well as Romantic Songs. All proceeds from this show will benefit the Waukesha Civic Theatre.

"Let me prove worthy of you love. Tell me how I can earn your love, set me free. How can I turn your love to me?" These are some of the most haunting lyrics in Stephen Sondheim's ASSASSINS, now in production in the Quadracci Powerhouse at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. These lyrics are sung by John Hinckley, Jr. with Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme in their duet of "Unworthy of Your Love".

It is hard not to get excited about theater when speaking the Milwaukee Repertory Theater's artistic director, Mark Clements. Clements is directing the opening production for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Quadracci Powerhouse season, ASSASSINS. During our conversation, I was struck by his honesty, enthusiasm, energy, and joy of theater.
