Dawson City Music Festival, July 15 - 17

Possibly the most remote music festival in North America, Dawson City offers an eclectic mix of music to an already adventurous trip - past artists have included: Black Mountain, Julie Doiron, Chad Van Gaalen, Sunset Rubdown, The Sadies, Final Fantasy, Hayden, Great Lake Swimmers and Ladyhawk.

Calgary Folk Festival, July 21-24

Taking place on an island in a park lake in the heart of downtown, this festival combines an equal blend of folk, indie, world and those who fall between those genres - past artists have included:The Decemberists, The Avett Brothers, DJ Dolores, Stars, Glen Campbell, Konono No. 1, Man Man, St. Vincent and The Swell Season.

Hillside Festival, July 22-24
