Shinan Govani recently announced his list of the Worthy 30 Men currently in Toronto. In a piece for the National Post, Shinan unveiled his carefully chosen list of men, and Toronto Jersey Boy Quinn VanAntwerp was one of the 30. This announcement coincides nicely with news that the Toronto production of Jersey Boys has extended again, and is currently having a Winter Sale where you can save on the HST and get tickets for as low as $25.

First off, the "Worthy 30" is a list of men who make the city of Toronto tick, and is released quasi annually in the National Post. According to Shinan, it is based on his adventures around town, as well as recommendations from various sources. In addition, in order to be eligible, the men "needed a modicum of attractiveness, some discernment, accomplishment and that unpindownable thing we call ‘It'".

The list was varied to say the least, but it was nice to see musical theatre making a dent with Toronto "Jersey Boy" Quinn VanAntwerp (currently playing Bob Gaudio) being named. While not native to the city, Quinn has been in Toronto for over a year wowing audiences as the "last piece of the puzzle" in Jersey Boys. When asked why he was picked, the 23 year old Antwerp stated: "Because I'm a tall 23-year-old who gets to do what he loves for a living and gets paid really well to do it! There are not many men my age who have jobs like this and I tell myself how lucky I am everyday."

If you haven't already seen Jersey Boys (or would like to see it again) now is a great time to make plans to check it out. On February 17th it was announced that the Toronto production would extend its very successful run - and tickets are now on sale through June 30th, 2010. If you purchase before March 21st and use the promo code "WINTER" you can get some of the best seats in the house for between $25 - $60.

JERSEY BOYS is the story behind the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It tells the story of how four blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were 30.

The cast of JERSEY BOYS features Gabriel Antonacci, Matthew G. Brown, Matt Cassidy, Jennifer Copping, Jade Elliott, Élodie Gillett, Bryan Hindle, Victoria Lamond, Michael Lomenda, Aaron MacKenzie, Jeff Madden, Adrian Marchuk, W. Joseph Matheson, Timothy Sell, Alison Smyth, Daniel Robert Sullivan, Grant Tilly, Quinn VanAntwerp and Shawn Wright.

Directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS is written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo.
