Studio 180 is proud to present the Canadian premiere of Cock, an award-winning and acclaimed comedy by British playwright Mike Bartlett. c*cknot only introduces Toronto audiences to one of the most exciting new voices in English-language theatre, but also to Studio 180's new home base - The Theatre Centre's brand new facility at 1115 Queen Street West, Toronto.

When John takes a break from his boyfriend, he accidentally meets the girl of his dreams. Filled with guilt and indecision, he decides there is only one way to straighten out the situation...

Mike Bartlett's punchy play takes a playful, candid and refreshing look at the classic love triangle. In another era, c*ckwould have been described as a comedy of manners; it is exactly that, except that the manners in question have changed greatly since the time of Noel Coward and the other recognized masters of the genre.

Cock premiered at the Royal Court Theatre to rave reviews in 2009 and won the 2010 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. The play's Off-Broadway premiere in 2012 was equally lauded and played an extended run at the Duke on 42nd Street.

Considered among the most talented and prolific playwrights of his generation, Bartlett has written for the National Theatre, The OId Vic, Headlong and many other leading companies. His adaptation of Chariots of Fire was a major hit in London's West End in 2012. c*ckis his first play to be produced in Canada.

Cock is directed in Toronto by Joel Greenberg. It stars Ian D. Clark, Jessica Greenberg, Andrew Kushnir and Jeff Miller?. Set and costumes are designed by John Thompson? and lighting by Kimberly Purtell?.
