The independent Dance Company, Kokus Productions is staging something very different than a usual dance production for their debut at the 2012 Toronto Fringe Theatre Festival between July 6-July 15. The play NUMBERS is a sixty minute long story about love, fear, and hope from a young Jewish girl, Felicia's (played by Ella Ballentine) point of view, as she recalls memories about the time her parents met each other during 1930's Poland to the end of the WWII.

This theatrical performance combines stunning contemporary dance pieces choreographed by six choreographers for an eclectic selection of music various styles from swing to hip-hop, and involves dramatic storytelling and original songs written by Robyn Kay-Pilarski. Numbers combines the forces of war, life and creation portrayed by a cast of sixteen with collaboration from Toronto's finest artists. Numbers is able to remain entertaining and unique while never losing sight of the sensitive subject that has been explored in so many ways before.

Produced and directed by Lukas Press. Choreographed by Lukas Press, Kay-Ann Ward, Rebecca Reinhart, Shameka Blake, Jen Oleksiuk, Kate Knox, Marta Ess. Writing and original songs by Robyn Kay-Pilarski.

Tickets for Numbers, Factory Theatre Mainspace (air conditioned) are available through the Toronto Fringe Festival's online order, or at the door.
