Encore Entertainment to present BLOOD BROTHERS in Toronto

ENCORE ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS POPULAR MUSICAL "BLOOD BROTHERS"

Playing at the Toronto Centre for the Arts from April 26th  to  May 6th , 2007

Blood Brothers is the award-winning musical that tells the captivating story of fraternal twins separated at birth and then grow up living just a few streets apart, but on opposite sides of the tracks.  Some of its central themes include superstition, class, nature vs. nurture,  and the fascinating but tragic life of Marilyn Monroe.

Encore Entertainment has assembled a stellar cast of sixteen, led by Sarah Haley Matte in the pivotal role of Mrs. Johnston, the abandoned mother whose economic situation drives her to give up one of her twins. Matte will be familiar to Encore audiences from her previous roles as Mother in Ragtime and Florence in Chess in Concert.  The roles of the twins, Mickey and Edward, are being played by Tim Vant and Joshua Jacobs.  Marlene Matos-Jones plays the role of Mrs. Lyons.  Other notables in the cast are Peter Pequegnat and David Lang who have both appeared in Encore shows. The show is being directed by Mario DAlimonte, who will be familiar to Encore audiences from his performances in The Odd Couple – Female Version, Same Time Next Year, Prisoner Of Second Avenue, Beau Jest, Jest A Second, Rumors,  just to name a few.   He directed the Encore productions of Les Belles Soeurs, Youre A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Nunsense, Company, and Lost in Yonkers

According to Producer Merle Garbe, "This show is powerful and moving, lively and sad.  It will capture your heart and leave a lasting impression. It is funny, deeply moving and full of memorable songs.  As always, we are counting on the support of the community, so that we can continue to provide quality theatre at an affordable price."

Tickets are $30.00 for evening performances and $28.00 for matinees.  Discounts are available for students, seniors, and groups.  Tickets can be purchased in person at the Toronto Centre Box Office, or by phone at (416) 733-0558.
