EVIL DEAD, POTTED POTTER, CANNIBAL! and More Set for Starvox's 10th Anniversary Season

Starvox Entertainment has been wowing audiences for years, bringing the best in entertainment to Toronto and stages around the world. Celebrating ten years in the biz, the company today announced a packed calendar of productions and events, including smash hits, fan favourites and a new partnership with the Randolph Theatre. Get ready for flesh eaters, hot flashes, magic and, of course, a little song and dance.

"In the past decade we've been fortunate to produce a series of local and internationally acclaimed shows, working with some amazing people along the way. We can't wait to share even more fantastic programming with the audiences in Toronto that helped us get this far."

Starvox is proud to bring the professional premiere of Trey Parker's Cannibal! The Musical to the Panasonic Theatre in February 2015. The latest project from the creator of South Park and The Book of Mormon, it's a raunchy, silly and (of course) hilarious true story of the only person convicted of cannibalism in America. Cannibal! The Musical began as a movie written by Parker while a ­student at the University of Colorado, and is now a theatrical sensation that bears all the hallmarks of a Parker-Stone collaboration: juvenile humor, complete irreverence, and the slaughter of innocents.

At the Randolph Theatre, just in time for Halloween, Evil Dead - The Musical is baaaaack, proving "you can't stop the dead!" A run-away international success, this Canadian musical comedy has been covering audiences in blood since hitting the Toronto stage in 2003. After playing to sold-out audiences last fall, Starvox took Evil Dead on a successful tour across America. Toronto deadites can celebrate the season in the infamous Splatter Zone.

In December at the Panasonic Theatre, Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience - A Parody by Dan and Jeff is back by magical demand. The show returns to Toronto where it originated its worldwide tour, becoming a critic and audience favourite in New York City, and garnering a Spanish language production in Mexico. Created by two-time Olivier Award-nominees Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, Potted Potter condenses all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into 70 hilarious minutes.

Menopause the Musical, the international hit show that celebrates women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived "The Change" lands at the Randolph Theatre. Audiences fell in love with this laugh-out-loud musical parody, leading to a two year Toronto run. Now it's back, set to classic tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, Menopause the Musical, will entertain women of all ages - and men too!

In addition to these theatrical offerings (with even more to be announced in coming months), this fall Starvox takes up residence at the Randolph Theatre, animating the historic venue with a variety of entertaining acts throughout the year. The Just for Laughs Toronto Festival kicks off the partnership in September, with Starvox hosting four side-splitting nights of this world-renowned comedy festival. Then in October, from Brooklyn to Toronto the New York Gypsy All-Stars take over the stage, jumping the turnstiles of Turkish Roots, Balkanalia and Gypsy soul with funky refinement. This quintet of jazz virtuosos play regularly in New York and throughout the European jazz festival circuit. Additional comedy and live music events in this brand new series will be announced shortly.

Evil Dead -- The Musical

This hilarious live stage show takes all the elements of the cult classic horror films, Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, then combines them to make one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time.

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes... and all to music.

The songs in the show are completely off the wall as well. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons," "Look Who's Evil Now" and "What the F@#k Was That" will have you rolling in your seats and screaming for more and more blood.
