BWW Reviews: 'NO CHANCE IN HELL' at the Best of Fringe is Heavenly

I am a huge fan of the Toronto Fringe Festival! It's a great platform for new shows to be presented to audiences. Some get picked up for the Mirvish Season - or by other theatre companies, and one has even made it all the way to Broadway (The Drowsy Chaperone.)

Tonight I had the pleasure of seeing a hilarious show titled NO CHANCE IN HELL - about a man named John Smith (Isaac Bell) who gets sent to Hell by mistake, only to fall in love with one of its residents (Jody-Anne Whitfield).

The production has a great book and usually on-point lyrics written by Chris John. The music is theatrical and fun to listen to, and was composed by Kevin Fox. You can expect to hear everything from an intricately written chorus number or a prayer to a moving pop ballad.

Director Lezlie Wade makes brilliant use of the material and talent she has available. For fans of physical comedy, Wade delivers this here in spades.

The entire cast is top notch and features Isaac Bell, Jake Foy, Joel Gomez, Jacob Macinnis, Dana Jean Phoenix, Susan Wesson, Jody-Anne Whitfield, and Jonathan Whittaker.

The show has two more performances at the Toronto Centre - one on July 22 at 10PM and another July 29 at 7PM. Tickets are now available on the Toronto Centre Website.
