31st Edmonton Fringe Festival Launches in Alberta, Aug 16-26

The oldest and longest running fringe festival in North America will take place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from August 16 – August 26.

A multitude of bizarre and inexplicable events will occur when the Fringed descend upon the Edmonton neighborhood of Old Strathcona for the 31st annual Edmonton International Fringe Festival. This year's event, themed "The Village of the Fringed" will feature more than 1600 performances of 220 unjuried and uncensored plays.

This year, Fringe Theatre Adventures is introducing a new Festival pass initiative. The Frequent Fringer Festival Pass includes 10 single tickets per pass for $110, replacing Frequent Fringer and Double Fringer passes. Frequent Fringer Festival Passes, along with single tickets, will be available at the Fringe Box Office or at www.fringetheatre.ca August 7 at Noon. A limit of two passes per person applies.

Interested parties can also sign up to become a Villager of the Fringed at www.fringetheatre.ca. Villagers of The Fringed enjoy a variety of benefits including one of six collectiblebuttons; invitation to exclusive Villager Gatherings; insider info and offers via Villager Alert emails; and more. With a $20 contribution, Villagers upgrade their membership to Councilor, enjoy all Villager benefits, receive a free Village of the Fringed poster and program guide, and help sustain the Festival.
